RCMP is investigating a home invasion where a masked man with a machete broke into a Grand Falls-Winsdor home and stole jewelry. File PhotoGRAND FALLS-WINDSOR, N.L. — Police are searching for a machete-wielding robber who broke into a home in Grand Falls-Windsor on Wednesday morning.
Shortly before 7:30 a.m., RCMP said occupants of the home on Grenfell Heights were startled when a masked individual armed with a machete forced entry into the apartment and demanded jewelry. One occupant hid while the other was threatened by the robber, who eventually left with an undisclosed amount of jewelry. The occupants of the home were uninjured.
The robber fled the scene in a white, four-door pickup truck that police believe may be a Dodge. Police described the culprit as standing around six feet tall with a muscular build.
