MACC remands two Malaysian embassy officials in graft probe

PUTRAJAYA: Two enforcement agency officers stationed at the Malaysian embassy in Bangladesh were remanded to assist in a probe in connection with the issuance of visas.

It is learnt that the two were ordered to return home recently and the two were remanded for three days until Thursday .

Sources with knowledge of the investigation said that graft investigators had discovered"suspicious transactions" involving accounts belonging to the two suspects. It is not immediately known whether the two suspects had been released when their remand order ended on Thursday.He also did not rule out the possibility that more arrests would be made.
