The Volleyball P.E.I. Hall of Fame recently inducted three members at a ceremony at Credit Union Place in Summerside. Hall of Fame share one thing in common – a love and passion for the sport.
“It means that everything you have done over the years, it meant something to some people. It’s something I never got into looking for recognition or anything like that,” said Ryan, who called his induction a surprise, adding he is glad he was able to have an impact. MacAdam also played in five junior nationals and two national juvenile championships by the age of 18. She also played university volleyball and was named an AUAA all-star and UPEI’s most valuable player in 1981.
“They have kind of established who I have become,” said the Charlottetown resident. “All my connections have led me to become a teacher. I stayed in school long enough to get more education because of playing some extra . It’s been a big part of who I am.”Millar taught and coached senior girls’ volleyball at Westisle Composite High School . She then spent seven years as principal at Kinkora Regional High School, where she coached the senior girls’ volleyball team.
