Founder of Vita Group Maxine Horne has listed her designer New Farm home, while across the Brisbane River a resort-style offering will test Hawthorne’s record.
While there is no price guide available for Ms Horne’s New Farm abode, it certainly ticks the location box, set four doors down from Brisbane’s record-holding historic Amity House, which wasPreviously dubbed Australia’s richest female executive, Ms Horne co-founded telco retailer Fone Zone, which opened its first store in Pacific Fair on the Gold Coast in 1995. The business grew to more than 160 stores and listed on the ASX in 2005.
Ms Horne paid $10.5 million for the property in 2016, the same year she cut her stake in Vita Group by 28 per cent, collecting $42 million in the process. Then, in 2021, the property was virtually rebuilt by Hampton Homes builders, architecttake back control of its store network . The significantly downsized Vita Group pivoted to its healthcare and wellness arm, Artisan Aesthetic Clinics. The clinics were later acquired by Sonic Healthcare in 2023.The just-listed home occupies an 873-square-metre allotment and features coffered ceilings, full-height glass walls and a curved staircase below a 4.5-metre-long Murano glass chandelier.
Outside, there is a fully equipped entertaining kitchen and lap pool with a mural by Brisbane street artist Ash Taylor, and a 15.2-metre private pontoon.have listed their resort-style riverfront home, Mimosa.
The property features a 32-metre river frontage, private jetty, pool with cabana bar, tennis court, gym, wine cellar, New Guinea rosewood joinery and a library with French oak parquetry flooring.
