The future of Labor's Melbourne candidate Luke Creasey appears uncertain with Labor leader Bill Shorten saying he wants to 'put an end' to the issue of his social media posts by Friday.

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten has stopped short of disendorsing embattled candidate Luke Creasey over damaging social media posts about women.

The Australian reports, in the 2012 post Mr Creasey is alleged to have made the following comment about a female friend: “Can’t keep that girl away … or her clothes on. In fact, she was just chilling on my couch on her towel just before. She was just saying how she wishes she had a bisexual education student to roughly take her virginity.”

Labor has been under pressure to disendorse Mr Creasey over the post, but so far Mr Shorten has accepted his apology saying it was made when he was in his early twenties.
