Ms Zelic revealed to Sky News Australia host Steve Price she had written to Minister Butler in July last year, to ask why Australia did not follow the UK in having a review after the release of the Asked by Price why Mr Butler"suddenly had this epiphany" to launch the review, Ms Zelic suggested it had come off the back of the Queensland government announcing an independent review into the evidence for stage one and stage two hormone therapy for children and adolescents with gender dysphoria.

"I think all of these people deserve to be locked up and put in prison for an extensive period of time for the damage that they've caused." It came after US President Donald Trump signed an executive order restricting gender transitions for anyone younger than 19.
