But police, fire services could not find the source of the noise
Greater Sudbury Police said in an email to Sudbury.com that police received a call at around 9:05 p.m. reporting the loud bang in the area of King Street and Whissell Avenue.Officers walked various trails in the area, searching the area for signs of an explosion, said the email. Officers did not find any strange smell, smoke or debris. There have not been any reports of injuries.Greater Sudbury Fire Services Deputy Chief Jesse Oshell told Sudbury.
“I can tell you that at 9:11 p.m. yesterday evening, we dispatched crews to a report of a potential explosion or loud noise heard in the area of Percy and King ,” he said. “We did not discover anything upon arrival or search. We did speak with civilians in the area and worked with GSPS, who had officers also canvassing the area. So I don't know if they have anything else to report, but I can tell you that we located no hazards or emergency after a search of the area.”
