Outgoing Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is blaming her failed re-election bid on her race and her gender, according to Daily Caller White House correspondent Diana Glebova.

Ms Lightfoot lost her re-election bid after failing to garner enough votes to make a run-off election.

Ms Glebova said the Mayor’s administration has always either downplayed the city’s sky-rocketing crime rates or claimed it was false. “Whereas her opponents, the ones that are advancing, had a more concrete plan about crime,” she told Sky News host James Morrow.
