The Ottawa Public Library is set to increase operating hours at most of its 33 branches after Thanksgiving.

As of Tuesday, Oct. 11, all urban and suburban branches will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, “allowing for more morning availability and the return of some favourite programs such as Babytime and Storytime,” the library said.Sign up to receive daily headline news from the Ottawa SUN, a division of Postmedia Network Inc.By clicking on the sign up button you consent to receive the above newsletter from Postmedia Network Inc.

The “long-awaited return” of local branch service to Metcalfe village arrives Oct. 13, at a new location in Town Hall, 8243 Victoria St. In a release, the library, which noted it was still experiencing ongoing staffing issues, described the expansion of hours as “another step towards resuming regular, pre-pandemic hours of operation.”
