You may be familiar with a recent scam that involves siphoning money out of your bank account via several transactions. Notably enough, the transactions are done via Facebook ads. Well, artist Jason Phang narrowly avoided being another victim of said scam, thanks to his bank!The artist shared yesterday that he had fallen asleep and woken up to notifications on his phone. A screenshot showed several pending approvals from his credit card for six different transactions, all from Facebook ads.
Knowing he hadn’t spent a lick of cash, Jason was quick to realise someone had stolen his credit card details and was attempting to filch his money. “” Jason shared. “Netizens added that they too have been suffering from the same scam, with several bemoaning the lost of their hard earned cash. Others pointed out that they too had accounts with the same bank as Jason, and had also been hit by the scam.
