The comments are FLOODING in and I'm loving it. Keep them coming! It was like trying to choose a favourite child but I voted for the Butcherbird; their call reminds me distinctly of waking up as a child in the spare bedroom of my Grandparents house in Ipswich.
I’d go out to their verandah for some toast, Ma and Pa would already be out there, with a butcherbird sitting on the back of an outdoor dining chair, singing, right at home. Beautiful birds. -It's GOT to be the magical magpie. Their sound of warbling is just wonderful, and I love their curiosity. When I am sitting out under the pergola at the back, they'll come right up to see what I'm doing. Around our area, even in nesting season, they're not aggressive.
