The Australian share market is likely to start its day flat after a lacklustre session on Wall Street, weighed down by disappointing quarterly results from the likes of Netflix, Johnson & Johnson and Goldman Sachs.

Overnight, some major US companies posted their March-quarter results, and they were a mixed bag.shares fell 2.8% after the healthcare conglomerate cautioned investors over the lingering impact of inflation-driven costs this year.dropped 1.7% after the bank reported its first-quarter profit had fallen 19% as dealmaking and bond trading slumped.plunged by as much as 11% after the company provided a mixed set of results.

It looks like the Australian share market will begin its day largely unchanged, given SPI futures are flat this morning. Not to mention — Wall Street ended its day practically flat as well, so US markets won't be providing much inspiration for local investors.
