Lithium Americas must wait until January for Thacker Pass hearing
The hearing will be in Reno, Nevada. Chief Judge Miranda M. Du will preside.Opponents of the mine are asking the court to overturn former President Donald Trump's approval of the mine, writes Reuters.The Thacker Pass lithium project is located in Humboldt County, Nevada.
The company describes the project as"the largest known lithium resource in the United States." In 2018, Lithium Americas completed a pre-feasibility study on a two-phase project with a production capacity designed to reach 60,000 tpa of battery- quality lithium carbonate and 46-year mine life. The mine will be developed as an open-pit mining operation using conventional continuous mining equipment.
