Lisa Wilkinson has personally apologised to Jacinta Nampijinpa Price for comments which emerged from a meeting with Brittany Higgins which the Senator labelled 'derogatory' and 'racist' earlier today on 2GB radio.
"I sincerely apologise to Senator Price for any offence I may have caused. The conversation was private and not intended to appear as it has out of context and in the public arena," Ms Wilkinson said.
Audio from a meeting between Ms Wilkinson, her producer Angus Llewellyn, Brittany Higgins and her partner David Sharaz was revealed by Sharri Markson on Sky News Australia on Thursday night. It's understood McGarvey said the discussion of race did not reflect the values the network stood for and that it shouldn't have happened.
