A new poll from Ipsos shows a majority in almost every part of the country think Trudeau should step down as PM and Liberal leader.

Things are a bit more complicated in Ontario, where the next federal election will be decided. In the most populous province, just 46% believe there should be a 2023 federal vote; it’s even lower in Quebec at 40%. As for Justin Trudeau, the majority of voters in every part of the country, except Quebec, think it is time for him to step down. Nationwide, 54% say Trudeau should step down as prime minister and Liberal leader to let someone else take over.
The main problem for the Conservative leader is that he has high negatives as well, with 59% saying they disapprove of his performance, including 32% who strongly disapprove. Trudeau sits slightly higher with 45% saying they approve of his performance, but like Poilievre, Trudeau has a strong core who oppose him. A total of 55% of Canadians say they disapprove of Trudeau’s performance, including 33% who strongly disapprove.
