From brianlilley: Cabinet shuffle rumours at Queen's Park keeps tongues wagging

Rumours of a shuffle have been circulating at Queen’s Park for weeks now. So much so that the NDP noted the speculation when questioning Transportation Minister Caroline Mulroney a few weeks ago.

That said, there hasn’t been a major cabinet shuffle in the Ford government since June 2019. Since then, he’s moved people around as needed be due to resignations of ministers or decisions not to run in the last election.Article contentChristine Elliott chose not to run after four years of serving as health minister and deputy premier and was replaced in both roles by Sylvia Jones.

“The shuffle won’t happen until after the byelection,” one plugged-in Tory opined Monday afternoon as the ministers were fretting about their futures. Ford’s PCs are hopeful they can win Scarborough-Guildwood after recruiting long-time city councillor for the area Gary Crawford. They don’t hold out much hope of winning Kitchener-Centre at this point.
