, no president between Teddy Roosevelt and Kennedy made Canada their first foreign trip, in fact several didn’t make it to Canada at all.made his first trip to Canada, as did George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, but that’s it — the rest went elsewhere. Even Clinton’s first trip to Canada wasn’t so much about visiting us, but to meet with Russian President Boris Yeltsin and chat with Prime Minister Brian Mulroney while he was here.
Biden is a Democrat – the kind of American politician, according to polls, that Canadians overwhelmingly favour – and he’s in sync with Trudeau. These are a pair of forward-looking, progressives who see eye to eye on so many issues.
