A weak area of low pressure passing east of the Avalon Peninsula may bring light snow to parts of Newfoundland and Labrador. Another weak low will also bring light snow to Labrador West. Overall, the weather will be calm and chilly.

A weak area of low pressure will pass well east of the Avalon Peninsula today. However, it may be close enough that some light snow on the outer edge of the circulation grazes the Southern Shore and northeast Avalon (St. John’s Metro), with some light snow fall later this morning into the afternoon. While the snow amounts will not be significant, it could be a few hours of light snow . While there is some uncertainty here, snowfall amounts should remain below 2 or 3 cm at the very most.

Beyond that, another weak low will swing through eastern Quebec and spread some light snow into Labrador West this morning, which will taper to scattered flurries this afternoon. Snowfall amounts will be light, with only 2-5 cm expected. Outside of these two items, the weather across N.L. to start our Monday will be on the quiet and calm side of things, which will be a nice change from all the active weather we had over the weekend. It will be chilly, with highs generally near freezing, on the sub-freezing side, to well below freezing in northern and western Labrado
