Liddell Power Station will enter a 10-day shutdown period culminating in its retirement.
Australian Energy Council Chief Executive Sarah McNamara said “we’re unlikely to see any price rises in the short-term as a result of Liddell closing.”
“That’s because Liddell’s closure has been known by the market for some eight years now, so it’s been factored into contract prices for quite some time,” Ms McNamara told Sky News Australia.
