James Lockyer, a lawyer who co-founded Innocence Canada and helped several people prove a wrongful conviction, including Milgaard, said he has been advocating for the creation of a commission to review cases for 30 years. Lametti said he is going to try to pass the law as fast as he can, and believes he has “good support” in both the House of Commons and the Senate.
