The idea that some Quebec Liberals might not support their government’s own language bill seemed to surprise Francis Drouin, MP for Glengarry—Prescott—Russell in Eastern Ontario, who reiterated the party’s message that the Liberal caucus is “united” in passing C-13. “I think we’re united on the broad principles,” replied Housefather. “And the broad principles are that we support the French language everywhere in Canada, including in Quebec, and support both linguistic minority communities in Canada, including anglophones in Quebec.”Article content
