Liberal MLA Gord McNeilly has announced his bid for re-election in Charlottetown-West Royalty. Yakosu Umana PhotoCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Liberal MLA Gord McNeilly has announced his bid for re-election in Charlottetown-West Royalty.
McNeilly, who has represented the district since 2019, currently serves as house leader for the Liberal caucus and chair of the standing committee on health and social development. He also serves as the third-party critic for wellness, social development and housing, mental health and addictions, justice and public safety, education and the status of women.
In a statement, McNeilly said he has advocated for his constituents on various fronts, including senior support, support for individuals with disabilities, housing and promoting wellness.“Residents are feeling the impacts from lack of access to an overburdened health-care system, the pandemic, hurricane Fiona, rising inflation and a housing crisis. I want to continue to advocate for residents in my district to help them meet these challenges.
Aside from his political career, McNeilly is a fitness professional and has helped establish the P.E.I. community fridge, has served as the provincial fundraising chair for the United Way for three years and has been involved with various non-profit organizations.It has been our privilege to have the trust and support of our East Coast communities for the last 200 years.
