Letters to the Editor, Sept. 22, 2023

As an old man, nearing the end of life who is fairly well off materialistically and who cares for people, I am very worried for the current and future state of our youth, seniors, average and minimum wage earners as well as the homeless. Our leaders at all levels of governance seem to care about themselves and trek on with their personal agendas that in a lot of cases puts a great burden on most of the populace to maintain a decent standard of living.

With high taxation on everything, high interest rates, housing and rentals through the roof, groceries climbing daily, and many others that put a great financial burden on a vast majority of people and there is no one to control any of this. Introduction of price control is definitely needed. Most have not had any pay increases for a long time and the ones that did cannot keep up with the inflation. A complete overhaul of the political scene is needed.
