Saturday’s Maple Leafs game against the Vancouver Canucks was by far the most abysmal performance I have witnessed in a long time. Looks like the additions that Dubas made to the lineup, which were supposed to make the team better, didn’t help at all. The whole team played terrible. I think Dubas traded the wrong defenceman when he let Sandin go. When Morgan Rielly went down with injury for quite a significant amount of time, the Leafs played a much better defensive game.
Toronto made the Canucks look like Stanley Cup contenders, and they aren’t even a playoff-bound team. Saturday’s effort, or lack thereof, was unacceptable. The only thing the Leafs are good at is selling hope. Unfortunately, hope doesn’t win Cups.
