Article contentBrian Lilley’s column “Get to work and reform bail” was accurate about the effort and changes needed to reform the bail system. The other part of the equation is the philosophy of justice. It was supposed to be blind on purpose. Compassion was not its purpose. That particular feeling is not a virtue when dealing with violence. In our rush to be woke, we have disturbed the balance of justice. People’s actions are their own doing.
Even though you work hard to pay your taxes and earn a vacation by saving up your pennies, if you’re Canadian and work for a living you are being squeezed for every penny that falls out of your pockets by a government long overdue to be replaced. Too bad we all can’t take a government jet to Jamaica or Costa Rica at the taxpayer’s expense and have our luggage arrive too.
