They also emit a lot of CO2, which is beneficial to the world, but the rest of the filthy stuff coming out of those smoke stacks is not good.
The former Irving gas station on the corner of Queen and Euston streets in Charlottetown has been sitting empty for many years. - File Requests have been made by the city, to no avail so far, for the Irvings to fix up the property. There was also a recent petition on Change.org. But as the saying goes, the Irvings"march to their own drummer" and do things on their own timeframe. The building is a heritage site, built in the style of service stations in the early part of the last century. It is a valuable piece of property in the downtown area, which could be put to good use in some other form.
And speaking of such things, the former Pickard Heavy Equipment dealership near the corner of Belvedere and University avenues in Charlottetown has been vacant and deteriorating for even longer, I believe, than the aforementioned Irving property.
