I wonder how many Ontarians are aware that Big Bad Alberta has had a deposit/return program for all beverage containers in place for over 40 years? And Ontario, with the exception of alcoholic beverage containers has none? The most recent boast I could find from Ontario was that by May 2017, 10 years after their programs inception, they had recycled a total of 3 billion containers, or an average of 300,000 per year. Alberta, with a population about 1/3 that of Ontario, recycled 2.
