A lifelong Albertan who has always voted Conservative, I find myself without a party.
Danielle Smith and her party are so radical and so far right conservative is not who they are. I am not sure how to characterize them, except to use the analogy “trump north”, or QAnon north. A party of conspiracy theorists, nutty policies, and unstable. It comes from having no life experience. When the leader has never had to make a payroll, run a company or lead anything, I guess being controversial and wacky now makes you a leader. It is a sad state we are in.
The best thing would be for Smith to take a shellacking in the byelection, but I am afraid it will be in the spring.
