) has had such a disappointing experience with his heat pump. We have had an entirely different experience.
The investment in the heat pump was paid off in approximately five years. There were a few growing pains early on when it malfunctioned or didn't work, but within a few months, these were resolved. I was advised by Efficiency Nova Scotia that the federal Department of Natural Resources green home program would be administering this grant. As per usual, this announcement turned out to be too good to be true; this agency told me that the program would not come into effect until 2023 and that it was income-based.
We are seniors on fixed incomes trying to cope with today’s horrific price increases. All levels of government should stop meaningless gestures and do something meaningful to alleviate this situation. After all, one can only turn the heat down so much.Talk about shooting yourself in the foot! Is Justin Trudeau a masochist?
It's alright to say that we should insulate and transition to cleaner energy with government incentives. But government can only pay for these incentives via taxation and more taxation.
