Not a word about the horrors imposed by past Russian rulers. For example, Stalin’s Holdomor, a deliberate program to starve million of Ukrainians in eastern Ukraine in 1932 to 33. Anyone who dared to keep food in their home was shot. Soilders came and systematically searched homes for the food of the very people who worked the land that supplied their enemy’s bread.

I came to this country in 1948 as a Ukrainian refugee because my parents knew how ruthless the Russian regime was to any Ukrainian who wanted a free and democratic state.
