Lethbridge police discover suspected fentanyl resembling candy bear yql
A member of the city’s downtown policing unit discovered an unattended bag in Galt Gardens, a small park on the west end of the city’s downtown. “Disguising fentanyl to look like a piece of candy is a significant safety concern given the potential it could be mistaken for something less deadly,” said Sgt. Ryan Darroch with the downtown policing unit. Lethbridge police are unsure whether the bear is part of a larger batch of drugs circulating through the southern Alberta city.
Police noted it’s common for fentanyl to be produced in bright colours or be molded into particular shapes, and is a trend that’s emerged across North America in recent years.Recommended from Editorial
