Kesemua mercun dan bunga api terbabit dianggarkan bernilai kira-kira RM7,000

ALOR SETAR: Seorang lelaki ditahan polis ketika membawa pelbagai jenis mercun dan bunga api tanpa permit sah menggunakan sebuah kereta berhampiran Shahab Perdana di sini, kira-kira pukul 3.30 petang, semalam.

Ketua Polis Daerah Kota Setar, Asisten Komisioner Ahmad Shukri Mat Akhir berkata, pemeriksaan terhadap kereta jenis Perodua Myvi itu menemukan 279 kotak mercun dan bunga api.Beliau berkata, kes disiasat mengikut Seksyen 8, Akta Bahan Letupan 1957 dan suspek boleh dipenjara hingga tujuh tahun atau denda RM10,000 atau kedua-duanya sekali.

“Pihak polis juga ingin menasihatkan semua pihak yang ingin membawa atau menjual mercun dan bunga api untuk memastikan mereka memiliki permit sah,” katanya. –UTUSAN
