Leica today has officially launched its new SL3 mirrorless camera in Malaysia. As per its initial announcement earlier this month, the shooter is priced at

RM36,400 for the local market, and is slated to ship out sometime in April this year.

To recap, the Leica SL3, despite mostly resembling its predecessor, features a new dial at the top left and relocated primary buttons on its back. There's also a new tiltable 3.2-inch 2.3M-dot LCD screen, and an updated OLED electronic viewfinder which boasts 5.76m-dot resolution and 0.78x magnification.

Storage options include support for CFexpress type B and SD UHS-II memory cards, accompanied by full-sized HDMI and USB-C charging ports, as well as mic/headphone jacks. Additionally, the camera features IP54 dust/water resistance, and weighs in at around 767g. Under the hood, the Leica SL3 shares the same 60MP sensor as the M11 rangefinder and Q3 models. It also boasts an ISO range of 50-100,000, 15 stops of dynamic range, and up to 15fps of continuous shooting. Newly introduced on this model is a phase-detect AF system, face and eye detection capabilities, a new animal detection feature, as well as enhanced action tracking capabilities.

Leica says interested buyers can join the waitlist by either registering via its official website or visiting its flagship store at Avenue K in Kuala Lumpur. Additionally, customers can opt to just get the camera body only, or have it bundled together with compatible Leica lenses - at an additional cost, of course.
