Australia is on the brink of another major tour announcement in 2023 with one of the most influential songwriters of all time set to return Down Under.

The Beatles frontman and bassist Paul McCartney is reportedly in talks with Australian company Frontier Touring to discuss concert dates for Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane for later in the year. The 81-year-old has not played in Australia since 2017 and also hasn’t toured in more than a year however he showed last year he’s still got it, consistently performing more than 35 songs a night in marathon shows across the United States and United Kingdom.

Paul McCartney climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge in his last visit to Australia in 2017. “I was talking to – name-dropping, clunk – Willie Nelson, and I was talking about this whole retiring thing, because he’s older than I am, even,” McCartney said in a 2018 interview with BBC6.Australia has had its fair share of mega artists hit our shores in 2023 with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles performing earlier in the year while acts such as the Foo Fighters and Paramore have shows coming up.
