New real estate figures reveal Kimberley rental prices are continuing skywards, and a community legal centre says it's 'going to devastate' the region.
Kimberley Community Legal Service chief executive Christine Robinson said the lack of housing was stunting the region's ability to break the cycle of disadvantage.High rent will 'devastate' the region
"It's not just the food, it's not just the rent — it's everything else is going up at the same time … people have less and less income to live on," she said. "We've already in … the last year probably, lost about six to eight possible [financial counsellor] candidates, because we couldn't provide subsidised housing," Ms Robinson said.
