Laverne MacInnis has announced her intention to seek the Green Party of P.E.I. nomination for Belfast-Murray River in the upcoming provincial election. ContributedMURRAY HARBOUR, P.E.I. — Laverne MacInnis has announced her intention to seek the Green Party of P.E.I. nomination in Belfast-Murray River for the upcoming provincial election.
“I am deeply concerned about the state of health care, education and land use on P.E.I.," said MacInnis.She spent the first half of her career life providing care in the mental health and addictions field before becoming a counsellor in the public education system.MacInnis assumed a part-time position with Health P.E.I. as a youth addictions counsellor in 2007 and ended her professional career in the fall of 2021.
MacInnis holds a bachelor of science degree in human services and a master’s degree in counselling psychology.
