Maëva is one of two children who died after a driver crashed a Société de transport de Laval bus into the Garderie Educative Ste-Rose on Feb. 8. “She always had the right word to say to make people laugh or to react,” the letter states. “Her daycare was a great community and she adored going there to play with her friends. She always did everything to become an active and engaged citizen and she had many talents. She will continue to shine in the way she taught us every day and by the indelible memories that she left behind before this unnameable incident made her heart stop beating.

The parents thanked the community for their outpouring of support and promised there would be a special ceremony to remember Maëva in the near future, to be held at the Ste-Rose-de-Lima church in Laval.
