There is ‘nothing for anybody to do’ to help with skilled worker crisisSky News host Gary Hardgrave says the government should make it easier for skilled workers to find jobs instead of encouraging migration as currently there is “nothing for anybody to do”. “The problem is there’s nothing for anybody to do in this country,” Mr Hardgrave told Sky News host James Morrow. “We’ve made electricity so expensive that we don’t make things anymore, we’re making it so difficult for farmers to grow stuff because of all the green tape associated with everything they do on the land. “We are slowly but surely doing ourselves in as a country and no skilled migrant is going to want to come here.”

‘Short attention span’: Government has ‘given up’ on ‘long-term nation-building’Sky News host Gary Hardgrave says Australia’s government seem more worried about “keeping the media amused” and managing the message rather than building up the country’s “long-term good”. “Unfortunately, too many in government and big corporations, well, they have a short attention span, there’s no long-term vision,” he said. Mr Hardgrave said Australia’s government has “given up” on long-term nation-building, and people should demand it “plans beyond the news and political cycles”. “Our nation was built with toil, with sweat, defended with blood without a real long-term nation-building plan, there's real tears ahead,” he said.
