‘Land grants for Tambunan villagers to be resolved soon’

TAMBUNAN: The land grants owned by villagers that were previously included in the forest reserve area of the Forestry Department will be issued based on existing laws and regulations after the surveying is completed.

Deputy Chief Minister I, Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, said the area in question is indeed a forest reserve that had been gazetted for a long time and is not a new proposal.“Measuring needs to be done to determine the boundaries and identify the existence of lands owned by the villagers,” he said at a dialogue session on land surveying with the residents of five villages held at Kampung Tanaki, Rugading, here.
