LABUAN: The Labuan Public Works Department (JKR Labuan) will be implementing a new pothole repair method using the innovative product, Xinlu Carpet Patch.

PWD Labuan director Mohd Faizul Ali Hanapiah said the Xinlu Carpet Patch is a proven innovative product that serves as an alternative for pothole repairs on roads.“This product has undergone three years of research and durability testing, and in November 2023, it was approved by the Malaysian PWD as a permanent patch,” he told Bernama today.
He said the carpet patch pothole repair method is easy to execute on-site and saves work time, directly reducing road closure time. Mohd Faizul said with the Xinlu Carpet Patch, it would only take 15 minutes to complete a pothole patching job, compared to conventional methods that require nearly an hour when considering the various machines and equipment involved.
