Sky News host Chris Kenny discusses the cost of Labor's broken stage three tax cut promise following the latest Newspoll, showing a slender lead for Labor. The tax cuts were expected to benefit workers, but the polls show no reward for the party.
Sky News host Chris Kenny has reiterated the cost of Labor ’s broken stage three tax cut promise following the latest Newspoll . Mr Kenny said the week got off to a “less than ideal start” for the government with the Newspoll showing a “slender” 52 to 48 two-party preferred vote for Labor .
“So Labor have taken their big gamble, they’ve punted on a clear broken election promise … by changing the stage three tax cuts, they did so many workers could keep about $15 or $20 a week more of their own pay, expecting a reward in the polls, and they've got diddly squat. “It's hardly surprising, I said at the time they'd pay a price for breaking the promise and the tax cuts just don't amount to much … these tax cuts disappear with three Happy Meals.
