Labor MP Sam Rae denies using an alleged slur – “at least I have my own children” – towards Liberal MP Angie Hill in parliament house on Monday.
Ms Hill had the floor, speaking about the rising cost of early learning, at which point Mr Rae interrupted her.“The comments of my alleged interjection was of a personal matter against the member, this is absolutely not correct – I accept that interjections are always disorderly and apologise to the member for being disruptive in her speech,” he said.
The allegation came from Liberal MP Tony Pasin but Mr Rae claims he said “my family and seven thousand other families in my electorate have job care because of us”.
