The La Niña weather phenomenon, which brought above-normal rainfall in parts of the country, has ended, said the Pagasa. /PDI
on Wednesday. In its “final La Niña advisory,” Pagasa said the country will experience a gradual shift of wind systems as the northeast monsoon, or “amihan,” wanes and the easterlies become predominant this month.
The state weather service still warned of La Niña’s “lag effect” which may continue to bring heavy rain. Most parts of the country are also expected to experience increased rainfall except for some provinces Northern Luzon and Palawan which may receive less rain. —ABBY BOISER
