The plant was meant to primarily service the Kuala Langat region.
The plant, which currently operates at a quarter of its full capacity, supplies 50 million litres of water daily to users in the region.
“This meant that if there was a shutdown, users here would be the last to receive water when those plants resumed operation. The new water treatment plant features the latest technologies used to extract, treat and distribute water. Separately, Air Selangor has spent RM162.2mil in 2019 to replace 111.8km of aged pipes. The old pipes was the reason for 9.6 burst-pipe cases per 100km.
Servicing 29,270km of water pipes across Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, Air Selangor manages more than 2,100,000 individual accounts and almost 310,000 industrial accounts.
