Kota Kinabalu: The Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP) will collaborate with the world’s third largest construction machinery manufacturer, Sany Group, to introduce advanced industrialised building system (IBS) technology in Sabah.

Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe disclosed this after a recent visit to Changsha, China, and meetings with Sany Group Rotating Chairman Tang Xiuguo.“KKIP will establish an IBS factory, providing high-quality industrial building products for local industry players in future,” he said in a statement, Wednesday.

During the meeting, Tang shared with Phoong that Sany Group has been collaborating with several companies in the peninsula and had established discussions with Local Government Development Minister Nga Kor Ming, earlier this year. Sany Group plans to continue collaborating with PR1MA Corporation to build more affordable homes across Malaysia.

“Moreover, Sany Group’s pure electric heavy trucks have become the best-selling electric heavy vehicles in China, highlighting the future trend towards electric vehicles. Among the factories he visited, the Sany’s No.18 lighthouse factory was recognised as a “most advanced factory in the world” by the World Economic Forum, signifying its advanced, intelligent, and innovative manufacturing processes.
