The user, who calls herself a “wannabe golfer”, said the man was with a bunch of other dudes so she felt “uncomfortable speaking up” and the other bays were full so she couldn’t move away.
In the clip, which garnered over 13 million views in two weeks, showed Becca practicing alone when the man called her “girl” several times before saying:This was after Becca claimed he was the one who kept hitting shanks which can be seen in the background before he approached.Becca then tried to remain calm, replied with an “OK” and mouthed the words “something along the lines of “STFU”” when she back-faced him.Apparently, this isn’t the first time Becca dealt with mansplainers at the range.
“[H]onestly this is why [I] sometimes get “nervous” going to the driving range alone, especially when the bays are filled [with] dudes,” she said. The majority of commenters were on Becca’s side where some applauded her patience and pointed out the man’s rudeness by addressing her as “girl” in the first place.
One expressed their irk in others who tries to give them unwarranted advice when doing any activity alone.
