The hearing will take place at the County of Kings municipal complex in Coldbrook beginning at 9:30 a.m. If necessary, an evening session will be held beginning at 6:30 p.m. If required, the hearing would continue on May 19.Late March decision expected in appeal of Kings council approval of Canning, N.S., development

In the past, Long Road and the subject property were used as a campground and provided lake access for swimming or boating. However, the property has not been used in this manner for many years. The intent is to repurpose two deteriorating dwellings on the property as part of the development. Among other concerns, Boates alleges that council failed to properly consider whether the proposal would negatively impact lake health.

He alleges that a limited professional opinion was received concerning road construction, but not on drainage, storm water management, or the overall development.
