George Bernard McGean, 55, of Lower Sackville, has been handed a conditional sentence order with house arrest after pleading guilty to three charges.
Judge Ronda Van Der Hoek handed McGean a 10-month conditional sentence order on the three charges, including house arrest for the first six months, to be followed by daily curfew from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. for the remaining time. The conditional sentence will be followed by 30 months of probation. Ward pleaded not guilty to the charge on May 17, 2023. A trial was held on Jan. 4, 17, and 24. A decision was handed down on Jan. 30, and Ward was found guilty. The matter was adjourned to March 26 to allow time for a pre-sentence report to be prepared and for sentencing.Jason Konigshaus, 42, of White Rock, has been handed a suspended sentence with probation for willfully damaging an individual’s property to a value not exceeding $5,000.
Mahaney pleaded guilty to the charge on March 27. He was granted credit at time-and-a-half for 22 days spent remanded in custody, or 33 days. Judge Ronda Van Der Hoek sentenced Mahaney to time deemed served.Matthew Edward Higgins, 29, of Kingston, has been sentenced to jail time for having a blood alcohol concentration that was equal to or exceeded the legal limit within two hours of ceasing to operate a conveyance; and operating a conveyance while prohibited from doing so.
On April 3, Judge Christopher Manning sentenced Higgins to 30 days in custody on the impaired driving charge and imposed a two-year driving prohibition against him. Higgins was sentenced to 15 days in custody, to be served consecutively, on one count of driving while prohibited.
