But there will be one slight difference in the new coins featuring the head of King Charles III - it will face left.Assistant Treasury Minister Andrew Leigh has confirmed that coins bearing the head of King Charles III will enter circulation in Australia next year. "It will be a remarkable moment when Australia moves from having, not a queen on the coin, but the King," he said.He said the prospect of designing new coins that could serve a monarchy or a republic had not been part of discussions between the Treasury and the Royal Australian Mint.
Meanwhile, he confirmed there was no plan to mint any coins next year with Queen Elizabeth's effigy on them.
