King Charles met with Hollywood A-Lister Ryan Reynolds in Wales on December 9.
The Canadian-born actor is co-owner of local football team Wrexham AFC and was on-hand to introduce the King and Queen Consort to players at Racecourse Ground.Reynolds has been filming his efforts as he and fellow American actor co-owner Rob McElhenney learn to run the third oldest professional football club in the world, in a docuseries calledIt's understood the show's cameras were there to capture the meeting between monarch and Hollywood royalty for the second season of the series.
It's one of eight different communities granted the new title to mark the late Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee this year.During his speech at the official ceremony inside a local church, His Majesty didn't single out Reynolds but praised the football club for raising the profile of the place internationally, largely thanks to the show.
The docuseries and exposure from the high profile co-owners has given Wrexham skyrocketing tourist numbers, while the football club has seen a 600 per cent increase in merchandise sales, with orders coming in from around the globe.Catherine, Princess of Wales wore a tiara which once belonged to the Queen Mother, and a beaded scarlett Jenny Packham dress at a Diplomatic Corps reception at Buckingham Palace.
The event was held around the same time her sister-in-law Meghan attracted attention at an awards ceremony in New York.The members of the Diplomatic Corps, known as diplomats, support the work of the royal family in representing the UK both at home and abroad.
